Edward Tripp

Edward Tripp is a writer, performer & stand-up poet based in Devon. Strange, surreal & side-splittingly funny, his work is a mixture of story-telling, poetry & performance art.

Once described as "Dave Allen meets David Lynch," he's been known to cover himself in yeast & wield papier mache effigies of his mum's head, whilst delivering profound & universal truths.

Ed has previously brought his unique brand of spoken-word to nights & festivals such as Spork! Poetic Licence, SproutSpoken & WOMAD. He's supported Hollie McNish on tour, won the Spork! Poetry Slam in 2021, and frequently performs at both poetry & comedy nights.

"absurd and hysterical stand-up and poetry. At times both incredibly witty and completely nonsensical... a bizarre and enigmatic set that had the audience in stitches." - Razz Magazine, Feb 2021

"The team at Spork! have been the most extraordinary source of encouragement. They have given me an invaluable platform to perform and experiment and I hope to maintain this momentum. I balk at the idea that the only true creative hubs are in London. Devon is a creative jem in the South West crown, and I love being part of that creative community.
